About Carol

Carol Lynne Haugh Swaim, 1944 – 2007, was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and attended grade school and high school there.  Carol was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin where she majored in Economics and received her MBA from Pepperdine University.  She worked from college to retirement at Met Life, specializing in employee training.  She retired in 2000 as Director of Employee Training.  Carol died in 2007 after a four year battle with inflammatory breast cancer.  Carol’s days were brightened by watching her favorite figure skaters compete.

One of Carol's favorite young skaters was Richard Dornbush, whom she first saw skate at Silicon Valley Open in San Jose in 2003. She would have been very pleased when he won the Junior Grand Prix Final in Beijing in December 2010
